MoDa Creative Jewelry DesignMoDa designs began in a little pink boutique
on Calle 7 in Cozumel called "Ou lala Boutique". MoDa is a team of creative women who use unique combinations,
and unique artistry in their designs. In the wonderland garden of finished jewelry pieces, owned by a a MoDa fan out
there, combine shell, with wood and pearl, or crystals, with turquoise and silver. Some pieces combine bamboo, fresh
water pearl, and gemstones. The designs are so unusually beautiful that anyone who wears them, will always be complimented.

| and MoDa Jewelry Show in Cozumel |
Materials use in MoDa Jewelry Ou la la has a huge assortment of beads and findings that are used
for the jewelry we create. We use good quality hardware to compliment each creation. The stones and chips
used include natural stones, or cut stones of different sizes and shapes. There are natural precious stones as well
as high quality laboratory simulated, glass, organic precious stones such as ambar and combined stones. Some of the stones we use include: Picasso Jasper, turquoise,Aventurine, Unakite, Citrine, Malachite, Pearls, Amethyst, Laborite, Lapis Lazuli, Rose Quartz,
Moonstone, Crystal, Dalmatian Jasper, Goldstone, Red coral, Garnets, Moss Agate, and more. The list goes on and on.
With just a very few exceptions, all the jewelry in the store
is designed and created by Veronica or Olivia of Ou la la Boutique. They began making jewelry long ago, and have mastered
the art of creativity and have collected an eclectic assortment of unique and exotic beads from all over the world.
There is none alike and all have the charm and beauty making these souvenirs a treasure you'll value from Cozumel.
Shell JewelryShell jewelry is created from many different kinds of shells.
The outer housing or exoskeleton of various sea creatures is a common organic gemstones used in jewelry making.
Among the unknown-names (we haven’t learned yet), found on the beach, we also purchase shells from around the
world.
Lip shell has a shimmery topping on the
surface. We like to use these as are great focal beads for medallion focal necklaces. They
have an earth tone behind the shimming colors of black, white, beige and all colors really. Lip shell coins
are often colored and look very natural and beautiful. Paua shells are beautiful iridescent
turquoise blue green shell commonly found in New Zealand and New Guinea. It’s more expensive since
there are limits of its capture world wide. Stones are commonly carved as in leaves, and covered with epoxy
to hold in its color. Mother of Pearl also shimmers and
in its natural state is often called “Caramel Mother of Pearl”. It is natural shells, bleached
to make it white. It’s easy to confuse mother of pearl beads with glass beads. The
white mother of pearl chip beads are often in MoDa jewelry as are those pieces that are carved into shapes.
